Board of DirectorsListing and BiographiesThe Women's School board acts in the manner of traditional women's circles, honoring the ancient traditions of women ways. Executive Director
Sussanna Dimmitt (bio coming soon)
Sandy Murphey has been involved in a variety of women's activities since l982 when she was hired as the first co-ordinator of the Kona Women's Center, a non-profit organization in Hawaii. She was able to obtain a grant for an arts and crafts exhibit during Women's National History month. After developing a print brokering/advertising business with no money or experience, she became interested in connecting with other women business owners. She and a friend co-created The Business Women's Network on the Big Island. Sandy designed an "open" directory binder for the members, so that pages could be added easily as new women joined. She held workshops to benefit women. Some of these were "Success...Your Personal Connection", "Advertising, Marketing, and Promotion", and "Discovering Your Life Purpose". The Hawaii Committee on the Status of Women hired Sandy to co-ordinate an all day conference, which she named "Experience Empowerment". Since moving to Marin in 1993, she has continued to be involved in women's circles, and presently holds the position of vice president for the WSHAS.
Sharon has been an educator in both public schools and non-traditional settings for over 30 years. She received her bachelors degree in Human Ecology from Southern Illinois University in 1970, and has done post graduate work in Education and Women's Studies. She has dedicated her life to promoting an understanding and significance of the feminine and it's contribution to society, and the empowerment of women. Currently she is the founder and director of the Women's School of Healing Arts & Sciences, leader of Heart and Wisdom Circles, and promoter of Feminine values through lectures and workshops.
